In
Miles Thurlow's Artvert, the artist has
taken a copy of The Crack
Magazine,
deleted
it with corrective
fluid and then photographed it to
be
reprinted in the magazine.This
simple circular act plays upon the
expectations
of an artwork, and an advert, whilst posing a gentle and
ambiguous
critique to the contents
of the magazine and its economic
and
cultural value.
Miles
Thurlow often plays with ideas of construction and deconstruction
on
an
architectural, and sometimes more intimate, scale. Thurlow's work
is an
extension
of sculptural practice informed by Minimalism, Arte Povera and
everyday
life.
