Pumpkinhead
is the newest work in the ongoing Supernatural Series, comprised of
landscape photographs appropriated from horror movies; offering up
sublime moments in otherwise impoverished storylines. Kelly Richardson
was born in Canada (1972) where she studied fine art at the Ontario
College of Art & Design (AOCAD with honours) and the Nova Scotia
College of Art and Design (MFA studies). Her works have been exhibited
internationally at various galleries including Art Gallery of Ontario,
Toronto (2002-2003) and the Pompidou Centre, Paris (2002). Current
and recent exhibitions include Gwangju Biennale "A grain of dust,
a drop of water", Gwangju, South Korea, Photopolis Photo Biennial:
Future Perfect at Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Halifax, Canada, howthedevil
at Cornerhouse, UK and DRIFT at The Museum of Voivodina, Serbia and
An Tuireann Arts Centre, Scotland (touring internationally). Upcoming
exhibitions include Thinking the Unthinkable at Northern Gallery for
Contemporary Art, UK (2005) and MSVU Art Gallery, Halifax, Canada
(2005). She lives and works in the United Kingdom.
